The Hammer Depot has a very large tool inventory in North America and probably the largest tool inventory in Europe.

Hammer tool bits are made from differing Steel Alloys that are put through a complex heat treatment process. Not all tools are the same. Tool properties can vary dramatically. Tool performances can vary dramatically. Hammer tools are subjected to very high repeated shock waves. In a typical working week, your hammer bit will be hit over 1.6 million times by the hammer piston. Cheap tools with incorrect properties can lead to increase wear of tool bushings, impact rings, thrust rings and cause pitting and chipping to the piston face. It’s better to pay a little more for a tool now rather than pay for expensive hammer repairs later.

We do not sell low grade tools. Low grade tool bits are over hard and, as well as having a greater propensity to break, they also cause piston damage and premature wear to your hammer. Cheaper tools will, under the same conditions, generally fail sooner than the better quality tools.

On a few hammer models, we offer a regular grade tool bit but by far our best seller is our Premium Rockeater Tools^® Range.
It is a good quality bit at a reasonable price. It offers optimum value for money. Rockeater Tools^® are made of a selected higher grade steel alloy and are scientifically hardened to give a microstructure that gives optimum hardness, good service life and good penetration and output on 95% of job applications. Using your hammer correctly and maintaining it within the correct mechanical, lubrication and hydraulic tolerances will further result in better tool bit life.
